We’re having a drive to support our Bundles of Care program. Help your neighbors in need with your donations of basic cleaning items for body and home.

What donations would be most useful right now? Toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, laundry detergent, dish soap, sponges, cleaning sprays – any of these in regular sizes (not ginormous warehouse sizes, please) will be helpful.

Where should donations be brought? Please bring them to the Congregational Church of New Fairfield, 20 Gillotti Road.

When should donations be delivered? Please bring them to the  church Tuesday through Friday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., now through Feb. 19. Another option is to bring them on Sunday – we have worship service at 10 a.m., followed by fellowship in Pilgrim Hall, so you will find people here to accept your donations from about 11 a.m. to noon or so. (Of course, you are welcome to join us for the worship service at 10 a.m., then you can stroll on back to Pilgrim Hall for some snacks and fun, too.)

And why not the ginormous sizes? While your generous impulse is appreciated, it’s a matter of practicality. Both we and the people we are helping have limits on storage space and some of us have limits on lifting ability. Smaller “regular” sizes will be most helpful.

What is Bundles of Care, anyway? This program started in the summer of 2021. CCNF had been running a mobile Food Pantry while the town was unable to do so during the pandemic shutdown. When the New Fairfield Food Pantry  transitioned back to the town in July, we decided to maintain a similar model for needs that weren’t already covered by the Food Pantry. So, the Bundles were invented – Pet Food, Baby Care, Cleaning Products and Personal Care. Requests are accepted until the last Tuesday of a given month, and distribution takes place the first Tuesday of the following month.
