The Congregational Church of New Fairfield, (CCNF) has a long and rich history tied to the Town of New Fairfield. Gathered at essentially the same time the Town was formally incorporated in the early 1740’s, the first Church building also served as a meeting location for many Town activities beyond Sunday Worship. Our History goes back to purchasing land from the local Indians and our first Pastor, Benajah Case, was described as a “Missionary to the Indians”.
The church building has been in several locations during over it’s 270 years during which time CCNF has continually provided a place of Worship and Sanctuary for the residents of New Fairfield and the surrounding community. As we approach our 275th anniversary in 2017, we will continue to be a vital and active community of faith here in New Fairfield. While we value the old traditions, we are open to new things and initiatives and as our motto states, “No Matter where you are on life’s journey, YOU are welcome here”.
